Follow

My niece, Peyton, has been selling her artwork as a donation to our ministry.  We got one of the paintings and I just have to share it with you.  We just love it!  What a clear reminder to walk with Him daily.

. . . Set . . .

Well, it seems that our exodus to Ghana is beginning to seem more real every day.  We now have airline tickets, arms-full of vaccines, malaria prevention meds (we have to take it every day we are in Ghana!) and yesterday we got our visa's with the official stamp from "The Republic of Ghana".  We also went to Sam's this week and started stocking up on toiletries.  I never really thought about it before, but just how much shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant does one use in 6 months? Oh well, if our supply doesn't last then it will just be a shopping opportunity!

We also have begun getting all the kids' books, etc. for school next year since they will be home-schooling.  We got the entire 6th grade curriculum for Natalie through A-Beka.  You should have seen how excited she was (I'm serious -- she was excited to get her school books!).

Allie will also have some A-Beka classes, but will be doing Spanish online with her teacher at Winona High School.  I don't think they've done this at WHS before, so they are excited to give technology a whirl.    As for her biology, we will likely be using her WHS text and syllabus to make sure she is adequately prepared for the state test next year.

It looks like Evan will be able to take some dual-enrollment classes through Holmes Community College and get college credit along with some hybrid classes in conjunction with his WHS teachers.

Time is really flying by.  We leave the 31st of this month headed to Greece and Bulgaria for some medical mission work with some friends there.  When we return, we will have about 2 weeks to re-pack before we leave in early July.

Please be in prayer for all the details that we are working through right now. The end-of-the-school-year activities already make this time of year very hectic but adding in trips to 3 foreign countries, work, church and -- oh yeah -- the tornado that ripped through my parents town last week downing dozens of trees in their yard and destroying the school across the street from them where my family has attended since my Grandmother was in high school -- it becomes very easy for small details to get missed.

Also be in prayer for all the financial details of leaving our job (and its paycheck) and home behind for over half the year.  If you were wanting to make a contribution to our ministry, click on the link at the top right corner of this blog page where it says "SPONSOR ME".  You will be directed to our fund-raising site.

Thank you for being interested enough in what is going on with us to read my ramblings.
